James graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelors in Mathematics.
James joined Resurgens in 2020 as an Operating Executive and brings more than 20 years of software experience and has a passion for strategy, product design, and enabling great teams to produce incredible IP.
James currently serves as an Operating Executive at Superna, GitKraken, Lansweeper and Abstrakt, as well as CTO and Co-Founder of BitModern. Previously, James served as CTO of Embarcadero. Over the course of his career, James has successfully taken software products from conception to market and designed and architected software at all levels of the tech stack, specializing in developer tools, database tools, big data, cloud services, app stores and devops.
Further, James has experience managing large teams across multiple geographies on complex codes and has scaled teams from 0 to triple-digit headcounts multiple times. James enjoys helping R&D teams define and understand company goals and help them make sure they have appropriate culture, scalability, resources, skills and plans to achieve success.
Growing software companies is a complex and challenging task, but it can be incredibly rewarding. I'm privileged to work with some of the best at it at Resurgens, where I've learned a lot about what it takes to succeed.
