Ryan joined Resurgens in 2020 and brings over twenty years of software operational leadership and transaction advisory experience to the firm. He has been a senior executive at two private equity-backed vertical market software companies that achieved accelerated revenue growth and strong equity returns during his tenure. Ryan has worked with several of the world’s leading technology investment firms, including Hellman & Friedman, Bain Capital, JMI Equity, TPG, Stone Point Capital and CapitalG (growth equity investment fund of Google parent company Alphabet).
Most recently, Ryan was the Chief Financial Officer at Applied Systems, a leading global cloud software provider to the insurance industry. He was responsible for and led the company’s efforts related to strategic planning, M&A, partnerships, data security & privacy, legal and other G&A functions. During his nine years at the company, Applied Systems achieved significant equity returns with two separate private equity ownership groups and more than tripled revenue through the successful execution of multiple strategic acquisitions, extending into new business segments, and expanding into new geographies.
Prior to Applied Systems, Ryan led efforts related to strategic planning, acquisitions, divestitures and other key corporate initiatives at Intergraph Corporation, a global company that develops geospatial and engineering software. During his tenure, Intergraph achieved strong revenue & profit growth and shareholder appreciation both as a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: INGR) and then under private equity ownership until the company sale to a strategic acquirer. Ryan also previously held finance & corporate development positions at Witness Systems, a provider of CRM software, and began his career in investment banking focused on the technology sector, working at J.P. Morgan H&Q and Raymond James.
