Fred is a co-founder of Resurgens and brings over twenty-four years of technology company investment and advisory experience to the firm. Fred has been a leader in developing investment practices at two of the industry’s most successful private equity firms, and he has worked with entrepreneurs and technology executives at dozens of software and tech-enabled services companies to create significant value for shareholders and employees.

Prior to forming Resurgens, Fred was a Managing Director and the head of the small-buyout practice group at Accel-KKR, one of the industry’s leading technology private equity firms. Working with Adi Filipovic, Fred led new investments for the firm and shaped the direction and strategy of the group for AKKR. Prior to Accel-KKR, Fred spent over twelve years as a Managing Director with H.I.G. Capital, one of the leading private equity firms focused on the lower end of the middle market. Over time, Fred was the co-head of the firm’s venture capital efforts, and he subsequently led the group’s transition into growth equity and technology buyout investing. Fred was one of the earliest members of the team which oversaw dramatic growth at H.I.G., from $500 million to over $15 billion in assets under management. While at H.I.G., Fred opened and managed the firm’s Atlanta office, led, managed and exited several investments, and hired over twenty investment professionals.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Fred was a Vice President in the technology investment banking group of Hambrecht & Quist. At H&Q, he was a member of the firm’s East Coast software team, advising clients on a variety of M&A and capital raising transactions and sponsoring several principal investments through H&Q’s $500 million venture capital fund. Previously, Fred was with the investment banking groups of both Alex Brown & Sons and Robinson-Humphrey. Fred began his career with Andersen Consulting (Accenture), where he managed software development and operations strategy initiatives for the firm.
