Resurgens Expands Portfolio Operations Team with Six New Additions

Atlanta, GA

Resurgens Technology Partners (“Resurgens”) is pleased to announce the addition of six new team members to its portfolio operations team. Joining the team includes Jon Ingram as principal of portfolio operations, Edward Kenna as VP of portfolio operations, Wayne Williams as operating partner, Mike Swindell as operating executive (Product & Strategy), James Pitts as operating executive (R&D) and Nigel Brown as operating executive (Sales).

Jon and Edward will work together to manage value creation initiatives across the entire Resurgens’ portfolio, helping implement measures for strategic planning, talent design and alignment, sales and marketing effectiveness, as well as acquisitions and integration.

Working closely with Resurgens’ portfolio company, Axosoft, along with supporting the broader portfolio operations team, Wayne, Mike, James and Nigel bring over twenty years of experience to the table as an operating team in various IT/infrastructure software segments, successfully scaling multiple businesses for world-class private equity firms.

Jon Ingram joins Resurgens as a principal on the portfolio operations team and brings his more than 20 years of professional operating experience to the team. Jon has a broad background in M&A, strategic planning, sales and marketing and professional services. Prior to joining Resurgens, Jon was SVP of Corporate Development and SVP of Services at Applied Systems, a provider of insurance technology & software for independent agencies backed by Hellman & Friedman and JMI Equity. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at McKinsey & Co. and A.T. Kearney, among others.

Edward Kenna joins Resurgens’ portfolio operations team as a vice president. Prior to joining Resurgens, he spent four years working in a variety of roles at Raptor Technologies, a provider of school safety solutions backed by JMI Equity. At Raptor, Edward held roles in strategy, finance, marketing and sales, including leading Raptor’s inside sales and lead generation organizations. Prior to Raptor, Edward was an Investment Banking Associate in the Technology Group at Stephens.

Wayne Williams joins the Resurgens’ portfolio operations team as an operating partner and brings more than 30 years of experience founding and leading technology companies, as well as spearheading and implementing effective value creation strategies. Currently, he serves as executive chairman at both Axosoft (a Resurgens’ portfolio company) and Lansweeper. Outside of Axosoft, Wayne (along with the three individuals below) will help support Resurgens’ broader portfolio operations initiatives and will be instrumental in helping the firm continue to build its presence in the IT and Infrastructure software segments. Wayne is the former CEO of Embarcadero Technologies Inc., a Thoma Bravo-backed provider of cross-platform application development software, which was ultimately sold to Idera Inc. Wayne subsequently served as a Thoma Bravo operating partner from 2015-2020. Prior to Embarcadero, Wayne founded a number of successful software companies.

Mike Swindell joins the Resurgens’ portfolio operations team as an operating executive, with an expertise in product & strategy and brings more than 30 years of technology product development and marketing experience. Currently, Mike acts as an operating executive at Axosoft and executive operating advisor at Lansweeper. Previously, Mike was the SVP of Products at Embarcadero and VP of Product Management at Borland Software.  Mike has also had numerous successful software exits under his belt, including Luminous Corp., which was sold to Adobe.

James Pitts joins Resurgens’ portfolio operations team as an operating executive, with an expertise in R&D. James brings more than 20 years of software experience to the team and has a passion for strategy, product design and building/enabling teams to produce incredible IP. James currently serves as an operating executive at Axosoft and Lansweeper. Previously, James served as the CTO of Embarcadero after being promoted from VP of Software Development and Program Management. Over the course of his career, James has successfully taken software products from conception to market and designed and architected software at all levels of the tech stack, specializing in developer tools, database tools, big data, cloud services, app stores and DevOps. 

Nigel Brown joins Resurgens’ portfolio operations team as an operating executive, with over 30 years of experience leading global sales organizations for technology-focused organizations. Nigel is London-based. Previously, he was president of Global Channels and Alliances at Micro Focus, a public company that delivers solutions that bridge the gap between existing and emerging technologies to protect IT investments, during which he was involved in the integration of three separate acquisitions. Prior to Micro Focus, Nigel served as SVP of Worldwide Sales at Embarcadero, managing their worldwide direct and channel sales teams and transforming the performance of their Americas sales teams.
